Mt. Katsu Adventurous Couples Session

We don't have many mountains here in Okinawa, Japan. But when I hiked Mt. Katsu this summer with one of my friends I knew it would be the perfect location for an epic couples session! Only for the most dedicated, adventurous couples out there! But if you can overcome heat, humidity, bugs, showers, muddy trails, tricky and tight spaces, and a hike down in the dark then this is for you! And it is ALL. WORTH. IT!

As soon as Taylor, one of my best friends and fellow wedding photographers in Florida, booked her flight to Okinawa we immediately started collaborating on a couples session. And I gave her two choices: a beach session or a session at the top of a mountain and I'm so glad she choose the second option! It is very different from the beaches here that I always photograph and love but we couldn't pass up doing something different and challenging. She is also always used to doing beach sessions so it would be fun for both of us to step out of our comfort zone.

Kayli and Tyler are celebrating their 10 year anniversary this month and I have worked with them previously this year. When I found out they are celebrating such a special occasion this made it even more worthwhile to do something so huge to celebrate this! Her hair and makeup was done by Makeup by Kristen, a fellow military spouse and amazing hair and makeup artist here in Okinawa. And I'm so impressed how well Kayli's hair and makeup held up to everything on the hike up.

Enjoy the behind the scenes pictures below and be prepared to be amazed at the magic we were able to create that night! It was such an EPIC photo session and I can't wait to create more sessions like this in the future. So if you're interested let's chat today about your couples session and create an equally stunning masterpiece you can look back on forever of your time here in Okinawa!

If you made it this far thanks for joining me! We had an adventure trekking down in the dark but we all made it down in one piece! Haha! It was seriously an awesome time and honestly a great workout too!
