Okinawa Family Beach Session | The Rosenstiel Family
This was such a fun and special family session to do because it was for my brother and his family here in Okinawa, Japan! They flew all the way from Florida to visit Ryan and I! So I had to get them in front of the camera and it was so fun planning their outfits and creating such special memories for them here in Okinawa!
We even got to visit them on the first leg of their journey in Tokyo, Japan! They vacationed for two weeks total all over Japan and that first weekend we joined them to explore Tokyo, Disney! It was a ton of fun and I was able to recommend a lot of other touristy things for them to see while they made their way around Kyoto and Osaka before they headed our way to Okinawa.
They were so lucky too because they got the last little bit of good weather before the rainy season hit here in Okinawa! And for those that don’t know, that is the entire month of June! It was so great because Nicole wanted to relax on the beaches here and that’s exactly what we did. Explored tons of our favorite beaches including the one where we did their family session.
It was actually a crazy story too about this session. As we were headed to do their session I was setting up my camera for the session and my battery was dead. Okay, that was odd so I grabbed my spare battery and it was also dead….. You guys, I might be blonde but I never have two dead batteries. So this session was done on my backup camera that I use for traveling and we got the pictures for them. So two things; always have a backup camera and remember, it’s not the gear you have, it’s how you use it!
My other camera? The next morning I woke up after charging both batteries again overnight and my camera still wouldn’t turn on! It was completely dead! I had two sessions that weekend and so I went straight to the store and bought a new Canon Mark IV. And had to send my old body off to be repaired. Which ended up being another couple hundred dollars for repairing. This is why photography isn’t cheap! Haha!
Anyways, back to my brother’s session! It was cloudy as we were driving up to the location but they had the best sunset! And Nicole’s dress!!?? So perfect!! She is even graciously letting me add it to my client closet and it’s my favorite maxi dress to date!! Even Ryan and I jumped in for pictures at the end and I also saw Alison, of Alison Bell Photography, doing one of her last sessions there too before she PCSed.
Enjoy the pictures below of some of my favorites from their session! So happy they were able to visit us here in Okinawa! We are already planning a trip to Hong Kong Disney and Shanghai Disney in the next few years!
