When Brittany and Bobby attended a friend’s wedding at Plantation Oaks Farm, they fell in love with the venue at first sight, and I can certainly see why. The farm, located in Callahan, Florida, has a long history of love, having been owned by the same family since 1933. So, it is no surprise to this traveling wedding photographer that this sprawling farm, covered in Spanish-moss-draped Live Oaks, is such a popular location for weddings.
The gorgeous aqua blue of the bridesmaids’ dresses, set against the lush green landscape, was a photographers dream, but the unique moments are what make each wedding so special to photograph.
I always ask my brides if they would like to do a first look with the groom before the wedding. Brittany told me that a first look with Bobby wasn’t a part of the plan, but that she would instead like to do a first look with her dad. What a beautiful moment to capture as her father’s eyes lit up with pride and awe at the women his daughter had become.
Not to be outdone, Bobby also did a first look with his dad. If you know anything about Bobby he makes sure that everyone around him is having a great time. I photographed Brittany and Bobby's engagement session, so I was used to his goofiness, and also his face-making skills. I'm not going to lie though, he made the portrait session very interesting, especially with his groomsmen egging him on behind me.
What a fun group this was! When those groomsmen hit the dance floor at the reception, the guests couldn’t wipe the mile-wide smiles off of their faces. Everyone was in on the dancing and holding nothing back. Enjoy the pictures Brittany & Bobby! I can't wait to share the rest with you too!
